Spiders are the most successful animals on the planet - they can spin webs, climb, swim, dance, parachute and they can even drop a limb when threatened and grow it back. Overcome your fears and get closer to over 400 real spider specimens including live tarantulas, giant water spiders, and deadly funnel-webs.

Transformations: Art of the Scott Sisters

Showcases the AM's incredible collection of work by prominent 19th century natural history artists, sisters Helena and Harriet Scott. During the exhibition join one of the behind-the-scenes tours or try your hand at a range of botanical art-making workshops.

Body Percussion is where it all began: Indonesia, Africa, Pacific Islands all have incredibly vibrant body percussion traditions.

Bedlam Cabaret

For one night only Marrickville's Red Rattler will be taken over by Company of Rogues to create our own little slice of Bedlam right here in Sydney. It's a fun night of music, theatre, opera, circus and more to support this fantastic new Australian work. Sydney Writers Festival

This not-for-profit annual event presents over 300 events and attracts audiences of 100,000. The main location is at Walsh Bay in heritage wharves on Sydney Harbour but there are also events stretching across Sydney, from the Opera House and Sydney Town Hall, into suburban Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

GABS 2017

This annual Festival brings even more unique craft beers, gourmet beer-battered delicacies and refreshing ciders to satisfy every connoisseur's palette. GABS 2017 will feature around 400 beers from 150 breweries from across the globe filling out a giant beer hall, in which participants can sample a selection of beers and ciders from a wooden paddle.
